Candella has been awarded a grant for a research project to help make Victorian workplaces more mentally healthy for trans and gender diverse (TGD) people with psychosocial disabilities.
The project is funded by the Victorian Department of Health as part of the Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Grants Program.
We will deliver the project in partnership with Dr Damian Mellifont from the Centre for Disability Research and Policy (CDRP) at the University of Sydney. This will build on the Dr Mellifont’s recent research into
employment barriers for people with psychosocial disability.
Our project, which will kick-off in early 2024, will address two recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System: Establishing mentally healthy workplaces (recommendation 16) and working in partnership with diverse communities (recommendation 34).
